What do I want to be when I grow up?
Whether you are a high school student looking to go to college, or you are a boomer and thinking about a career change, or a retiree going back to work, there are decisions to make about job changes and career choices. Sometimes it requires more schooling, which often requires passing some kind of exam to get into a particular program.
If you are on your way to college, please read about the ACT and/or the SAT. These are college entrance exams. One or the other is required by most four year colleges. If you have graduated from college and are interested in pursuing a professional career, there are a variety of graduate exams that are required for various professions: the Graduate Record Exam (GRE), the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) for an MBA, the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT), and the Medical School Admissions Test (MCAT) to name just a few. This website provides information about many of these exams to help you prepare.
There are abundant resources available: study guides, classroom instruction, online test preparation, and private tutoring, all in a wide range of prices. Each of these is going to require considerable time, effort, and dedication on your part. Look before you leap!!
You may also be undecided about what you are going to do and are researching various careers. There are well known and widely held careers, and there are niches within those careers. There are little-known careers and there are self-employment opportunities. There are a host of books available to help you decide which career you may want to look into.
